Shearit Y'israel Nazarene Qahal
This is our Torah for which we count ourselves abundantly blessed.

Welcome to Shearit Yisrael Nazarene Congregation!

We are a Torah observant, Torah Obedient, Nazarene (Messianc) Congregation of Y'israelite believers on the south side of San Antonio, Texas that is in pursuit of Elohim!

Here are some of our features-

Semi-Traditional Torah Service: Held primarilly in Hebrew.  English translation is provided in the Sidurs along with transliterated equivilants.  Prayers are more enriching in the Hebrew.  Start time for prayers are 10:00 AM

Music & Dance - We have Y'israeli music and Davidic Dance in our worship times as well as traditional liturgy.

Life-Giving Messages - At Shearit Y'israel, we believe that the Torah (the Bible) was written to help us have better lives. In fact, Yahushua (Jesus) said in John 10:10, "...I have come that you might have life, and have life more abundantly." So our studies take the Torah, and communicate it in a way that is relevant to your life.   The messages given each Shabbat are prayerfully from Elohim and His word alone.  As Roeh of this congregation, I have attempted many times to have a written message to give on Shabbat.  I realized quickly that Elohim did not want me to lean on my own understanding, but rather wait on His Ruach to give me voice.  To that end, I only study the prescribed parashot for the coming Shabbat and wait till He gives me voice at the time of the service.  I think you will find this quite amazing to here what He has to say.  Call me if you have any questions 210-854-5581

Torah Study - We have a Torah study group to help you understand the Scriptures and ask questions about what you don't understand. Currently we have Torah studies on Saturdays following the Torah service and oneg (food & fellowship). Call for directions, and come hungry for fellowship and the Word.   Study begins around 2:30PM

Hebrew Class- All Hebrew classes have been moved for the time being to Shabbat meetings.  Basic is the only class offered at this time and is held in conjunction with the Na'arim/youth teachings held at 2:30PM.  or right after oneg.

A Safe Place - We want people to feel comfortable coming to learn about Elohim and experience His love, so we invite everyone to come, no matter what your background is, and we want you to be welcome. We will try to make you feel at home without intruding. We realize the need people have to check Elohim out to see if He's for real.

Casual Dress/Traditional Dress - We hold that Elohim looks at our inward heart instead of the outward appearance, so we dress casually. While suits and dresses are nice, they are expensive and not everyone can afford one just to wear to meetings, so feel welcome to come in your jeans or slacks, or in suits and dresses, whatever you are comfortable wearing. We do wear kippot (headcoverings for men), tzitziot (fringes), and tallitot (prayer shawls), but no one is required to do so or restricted from.  If you don't know what they are, don't have them, or have questions about them, that's OK. Just ask us and we'll explain, and help you find them if you so desire.

Location - We meet on the Sabbath Day (Saturday) at 10:00 am at the 507 Pleasanton Rd, San Antonio, TX. (Times and Location page)

Oneg (food and fellowship) - We have a time of food and fellowship between our Torah Service and our Torah studies to refresh ourselves, and get to know one another better. Feel free to bring something with you to eat and share, or just share with us; there is always plenty.  Roughly it is from 1:00 to 2:00 pm.

We welcome you to join the family of Y'israel, Nazarene believers, as we worship the One who loves us beyond measure and gave His life for us, the Set Apart One of Y'israel, Messiah Yahushua.
